- Are they a trusted partner? If you don't trust your MSP to provide you with solid, cost-effective IT solutions, they may be more interested in your checkbook than helping your business. You should be hearing from your MSP often and be receiving reliable, predictable invoicing.
- Is your MSP an advisor and consultant? Your MSP should be updating you on potential issues or reaching out to you to make sure your IT solutions are still effective. Your IT services should be comprehensive, while also taking into account your business's short-term needs and goals.
- Is your MSP upfront and transparent? It's common for IT companies to use highly technical language when defining their services, however, your MSP agreement should be something you fully understand. You should be able to rely on your MSP's explanation of what the terms, coverage, and limitations of the agreement mean. Your IT MSP should never encourage you to sign up for a service plan that you don't fully understand.
- Do you feel that your current MSP is meeting your needs? MSPs should be trustworthy and give you the best value for your IT budget. If they are not meeting your needs, maybe it's time for a change.
